coolon.com.au, rebuilt around one question

A growing product range is a good problem to have. But as more luminaires were added, finding the right one became increasingly complex. So while we rebuilt the site, we kept coming back to one question: how do people actually use it? The products were there, but getting to the right solution took more clicking around than it should have. That's what we set out to fix, and it's live today.

Here's what we changed:
Filters that finally do their job.

The old filters tried to do too much at once, and the feedback was always the same. People couldn't find what they were after. We've stripped them right back. They show a live count as you go so you always know how many products you're looking at, and you can peel them back one at a time until you land on the right fitting. No more scrolling past pages of items to find the one you're looking for.

Everything sits in a clean grid by default now, so you can take in far more at once, and there's a list view too if that suits you better. Once you've filtered down to a shortlist, you can line products up and compare them side by side. It's brilliant for checking power, lumens, output and environment all in one spot, without ten tabs open across your screen.

Every project we've posted, on a map

This one's our favourite. Our architectural project gallery now has a map, with a pin on projects we've published going back to 2006. You can see exactly where we've worked, then click straight into any project to dig into the detail. The gallery has its own filters as well, so you can sort by application, year or the products we used.

Old products, still here when you need them.

If a product has been discontinued, it hasn't vanished. You can still find it, along with its datasheet and IES files. It's a small thing, but if you're maintaining or matching an older install, it's the sort of small thing that saves you a real headache.

One Coolon, from top to bottom

Industrial, Architectural and Commercial now share the same look and the same feel, so moving between them is easy. The new drop-down menus take you straight to what you're after and make it clearer how our range fits together, including our Brilliant Connected Lights (BCL) technology.
