Coolon is proud to have contributed to the Brisbane Move project; a transformative infrastructure roll-out led by the Brisbane Move Consortium (ACCIONA and Arup). This multi-stage project enhances safety, connectivity, and the aesthetic fabric of the Brisbane CBD through high-performance, integrated lighting.
The Technical Edge: Built for the Subtropical Frontline
Illuminating high-traffic CBD infrastructure requires more than just standard fittings. Brisbane’s climate, with heavy rainfall, high humidity, and intense UV, demands extreme durability. To ensure longevity, all our linear luminaires benefit from our in-house state of the art encapsulation technology. By designing, testing and manufacturing our lights in Australia, we can guarantee that every outdoor rated fitting survives the rigours of a demanding public transport environment, ensuring stable light output and reduced maintenance for years to come.
Site 1: Adelaide Street & North Quay Handrail
This 77-metre pedestrian balustrade at a highly exposed CBD corner required a seamless integration of light and architecture.
Site 2: Adelaide Street Bus Shelters
Six new shelters were designed to improve passenger comfort along a key CBD corridor. A layered lighting approach was adopted to balance functionality with streetscape beautification.
Site 3: The Dive : Adelaide Street Tunnel
"The Dive" is a 213-metre underground busway linking North Quay with King George Square. To soften the robust infrastructure, feature lighting was used to enhance the architectural finish.
