Overview
Designed and manufactured in Australia using only the highest quality components, the CP9 High Power LED Luminaire is designed specifically for industrial applications where reliability and performance are paramount.
The CP9 was designed and developed to improve on existing halogen/xenon worklights fitted on mining and industrial equipment. The High power LED luminaire provides superior luminous output in a compact size enclosure.
Every component of the CP9 LED luminaire has been carefully engineered to provide the most reliable performance and bring across many benefits of utilizing solid state lighting technology in industrial applications.
CP9 LED luminaire is rated IP66 and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
The range of optics available allows it to be well-adopted for almost any application.
Product Benefits
Cool Operating Surface Temperature -show/hide
There is no doubt that gas discharge lamps are very efficient light sources. Some of them are even more efficient than the currently available production LEDs. However in industrial environments with smoke, exhaust, dust and moisture, a substantial amount of dirt is deposited onto the luminaire. Because of the high temperature of the exposed glass (typically about 200 degrees C), these deposits bake onto the glass surface and are often impossible to remove, even with a high pressure water jet. The light output is thus substantially reduced, thereby making overall efficiency much lower. This is most commonly noticeable on mining sites.
LED fittings such as CP9 have a much lower surface temperature (up to 65 degrees C typically, during operation). The lower surface temperature prevents dirt baking onto the surface, and allows LED Luminaires to be washed while operating. This lower temperature also makes an LED Luminaire a much safer device, especially in an environment where there is danger of an explosion caused by ignition or heat.
High Colour Rendering -show/hide
Today's commercially available LEDs offer a very high colour rendering index (typical CRI of between 75 – 80), enabling excellent colour differentiation. This sets a very high standard for most commonly used industrial luminaires.
Daylight Colours -show/hide
Emitted light spectrum provides natural and familiar colours as seen during the day.
No Flickering -show/hide
CP9 luminaires run on low voltage DC power and do not produce any visible stroboscopic effects, thus reducing the strain on eyes and significantly improving safety in areas where moving machinery is present.
Wide Variety of Optics Available -show/hide
CP9 comes in a range of optical characteristics, offering to maximise the effective performance in each particular application.
Low Susceptabilty to Vibration -show/hide
A typically critical issue affecting the life and operation of most common gas discharge lamp based light sources is mechanical shock and vibration, common to many industrial installations. Being a solid state device, LEDs are capable of withstanding vibrations of much greater intensity than most lamps.
Environmentally Friendly -show/hide
The CP9 does not contain mercury. After reaching its potential useful life, up to 97% of the volume of CP9 luminaire could be reused (refurbished) by replacing the electronic Printed Circuit boards only.
Precision Dimming -show/hide
With today's rising concerns for conservation of energy, there is no better way to save energy than by simply dimming the lighting when it is not used. While dimming is not always a possible, safe and economical option for most commonly used industrial lighting technologies today, LED luminaires will undoubtedly bring this advantage to its full potential.
The CP9 luminaire can be precision dimmed with up to 256 steps of dimming between full power and off.
The lifespan of the High Power LED Luminaire is not affected by the number of ON / OFF cycles.
Low Voltage Operation -show/hide
High Power LED Luminaires operate from a low voltage power supply, which is substantially safer then 240VAC powered light sources.
Instant Power ON (Instant Restrike) -show/hide
Another very important factor in favour of High Power LED Luminaire is the instant ON capability. While gas discharge lamps generally require substantial time to warm up or even longer to restart after a power failure or a glitch, the High Power LED Luminaire will start instantly, at full brightness, every time. The need for backup lighting or installation of costly hot restrike gas discharge lamps is thus eliminated.
Redundancy Array -show/hide
The CP9 LED Luminaire contains multiple high quality, high power LED light sources.
Even in the unlikely event of a single LED failure, the effect on the operation of the entire Luminaire is minimal. Multiple failures are even less probable events. This is a substantial advantage over a potential complete failure of a single lamp based product.
Unrestricted Burning Positions -show/hide
While many conventional lamps involve complex chemical reactions to sustain the burning process, they are required to be placed in a specific position to achieve the specified performance during operation. This means that these lamps are strictly limited to the position that they have been designed for. The CP9 Luminaire does not have any restrictions on its position or oritentation and can be turned in any desired way without affecting the lifespan of the product.
Remotely Located Control Gear -show/hide
Just like most other industrial light sources, the LED luminaire consists of two parts, the luminaire itself and the power supply (control gear). Unlike its predecessor gas technologies, the power supply can be installed at a fair distance from the light source, where it is safe and easy to maintain.
Lifespan -show/hide
Currently available specification from world's most reputable LED manufacturers states 50,000 hours of continuous operation at the rated current within the operating temperature range to 70% residual light output.
A Cost Effective Investment -show/hide
As with all new technology, High Power LED Luminaires have a higher initial cost compared to the Gas Discharge lamp based luminaires. However, over the period of 1.5-2 years, the overall operating cost including maintenance, work interruptions and often the need for installation of additional light sources due to insufficient lighting, could match or exceed the initial cost of High Power LED Luminaires, therefore making the Luminaires a cost effective investment.
