Particularly for applications that are outdoors or in wet and dirty locations.

Install something with no way of accessing it in the future
Everything has a useful service life, even if it is long enough to never be your problem.

Consider long term return on investment over low purchase price
Something that costs little but require a lot of maintenance over time, tends to carry huge hidden costs.

Use professional lighting design services
To ensure that a minimum mandatory safety illumination standards are achieved.

Ask your lighting supplier for proof of experience
To ensure that this supplier is familiar with specific challenges in your field and can deliver what is promised.

Forget about emergency escape lighting
Test it on a 6 months basis. It’s your and your colleague’s safety.

Simply believe what is written on a box
Ask for performance tested results issued by a qualified testing authority.
