Side Emitting LED Strip

Overview

The Side-emitting LED Strip is a unique light source designed especially for edge-lighting, using LEDs from world-leading LED manufacturer, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors.

The LED strip or 'segment' contains 30 side-emitting LEDs and is perfect for special lighting applications where no other light sources can fit. Most standard LED strips emit light from the top surface of the printed circuit board (PCB), on which the LEDs are mounted, the side-emitting LED strip emits light from the edge of the PCB. Most standard LED strips are often used for lighting panels from the back, while the Side-emitting LED strip can be used for edge-lighting panels, and in applications where space for the light source is limited.

The high density of the LEDs spread along the surface of the Side Emitting LED Strip ensures that the illumination is even along the strip and the overall glare factor is reduced. The light output from each LED blends with the light output from the LED(s) next to it, resulting in a uniquely uniform glow.
